The Lighthouse at Louisbourg dates from 1731; L'lle Sainte-Croix, 1604. Fort Saint-Joseph, 1682; Saint François de Sales Church, Quebec, 1734. The border is an adaptation of wrought iron hardware with birds from the New World that impressed the explorers and naturalists in the early 17th century. The halftone background is a map of Canada.
